Guy wrote to you previously concerning the suspension of club activities.
As you are all aware, restrictions on gatherings are being steadily increased. The current limits on indoor gatherings and the requirements of physical distancing make it Impractical to undertake regular club activities.
The committee has considered the situation as was indicated in Guy’s email and has decided that the suspension of club activities will remain in place until further notice. We have a duty of care to our members and a duty to abide by the current health regulations.
We will of course let you know if there are any changes to this but at the moment a closure of several months seems most likely.
In the meantime, we should all try to keep in touch by whatever means available. I encourage those of you with smartphones to take advantage of apps such as FaceTime, WhatsApp and Skype to make free video calls to your family, friends and club members.
I am looking into ways in which we might be able to have some meetings using videoconferencing and will be in touch with you again in due course if I am able to progress this.
Please stay safe.
Best regards
